Clean Energy Stocks: A proposal of Trump, Premier and WaAree shares

Clean energy stocks: Clean energy stocks in the US fell from the blast. Nextra Energy, the largest company of America’s largest rooftop solar company Sunrun as well as the largest company working on wind and solar projects in the US, lost 7 per cent to 37 per cent in a single day. Due to this, shares of Premier Energies and Waaree Energies broke up to 11 per cent. This selling pressure in these shares came due to the new tax bill, which has been proposed by US President Donald Trump.

What is the proposal of Donald Trump

The proposed new tax bill of US President Donald Trump aims to eliminate the funding received by the Clean Energy Sector companies under the Inflation Reduction Act of Biden Administration. The bill also proposes to cancel air pollution, lowering greenhouse gas emissions or the grant given for the purchase of electric heavy-duty vehicles. Under the new bill, it is also proposed to abolish a 30 % Federal Tax Credit for taxpayers imposing solar rooftop systems. The bill was passed by a margin of 215-214 at the US House of Representation and will now be sent to the Senate for further passage.

Why was there pressure on the shares of Premier and Waaree?

The US President’s proposal received a shock to the premiere energy and shares of Wari Energyz as he has a lot of interfering in the export market. In the first quarter of FY 2026, Wari had an order book of about ₹ 47,000 crore, of which 57% was from the export market. Brokerage firm Jefferies says that this trump bill shows the risk on 57% order book of Wari Energy. According to Jefferies, the opportunity of export to the US is already decreasing before estimates. Due to this, the shares of Wari Energe lost 11.04 per cent to Rs 2666.00 in Intra-Day and Rs 6.12 per cent of the Premier Energe’s shares slipped to Rs 1017.55.
