What is this device?
South China Morning Post Report According to, the team of the Indian Ends of Estrophysics has prepared a nebular gas (Sing) device for the Tiangong Space Station of China. This was the first cooperation of its kind between India and China in the world of Space Science. The cost of the instrument that Indian scientists have prepared is said to be 50 thousand US dollars (about 41 lakh 37 thousand rupees).
What will ‘sing’ work
The full name of Sing is- Spectrographic Investigation of Nebular Gas. This device is to be installed on the Tiangong space station. When the station revolves around the Earth, the Sing ultraviolet wave will scan the sky in the band and help to understand the birth and death of a star other than the structure and behavior of the interrestler (interrestleration) gas.The report says that the Indian Ends of Estrophicics team had sought export permits from the Ministry of External Affairs about a year ago from the Foreign Ministry. Since then there has been no progress in this matter. The report quoted Jayant Murthy, the astronomer physicist leading the project, that the work related to the device was completed for two months. The instrument is in a clean room and ready to fly.
The report says that Sing is not the only instrument. Other international experiments being made for China’s space station are also facing export related problems. If Sing reaches China this year, it will be the first international payload to work at the Chinese Space Station.
