Chandrayaan 4 Mission is Somnath Says Mission will return with Samples

Chandrayaan 4 Mission: India and its space agency ISRO (ISRO) created history by landing the Chandrayaan-3 mission on the moon surface last year. India became the first country in the world, whose Vikram Lander and Pragyan Rover landed on the southern pole of the moon. After this achievement, the discussion of Chandrayaan-4 mission started. Now for the first time, information about Chandrayaan-4 has been given by ISRO. ISRO says that Chandrayaan-4 will be launched in two parts and parts will be added to the space. According to the report of Indian Express, ISRO Chief S.K. Somnath said this in India Space Congress 2024. He said that Chandrayaan-4 will bring samples from the moon. It is worth noting that this week has reached the earth with 2 kg sample from the Mission Moon of China. He collected samples from the remote area of the moon which is not visible from our earth. China has become the first country in the world to bring samples from remote parts of the moon.

However, talking about the Chandrayaan-4 mission of India, ISRO Chief says that the mission will not be launched at once. All parts of the spacraft will be sent to space through two launch and the parts of the spacecraft will be added to the space before making landing on the moon.

Why will the mission be launched in two parts?

ISRO says that the Chandrayaan-4 weighing capacity may be greater than the most powerful rockets with ISRO. Because of this, there is a preparation to launch the mission in two parts. If this happens, it will be the first mission in the world, which will be flown into two parts and spacraft will be added to the space. If this mission is successful, ISRO will create history in the world. ISRO Chief has also told that the purpose of the mission is to come back with a sample from the moon. ISRO is currently working on how the spacecraft will be added to the space. Before launching the mission, ISRO would like to confirm this ability through another mission.

So far, three countries of the world- America, Russia and China have been able to return with samples from the moon. If India also does this, then its achievement will be completely different.
