Earlier, ISRO director, S Somanath had told that Chandrayaan-3 will be launched from Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota on 14 July. He had said, “If everything goes well then Chandrayaan will land on August 23. The date has been decided on the basis of sunrise on the moon. However, if it is delayed, we have to keep the landing in September next month.”
