The Baata footwear manufacturer sees good potential to increase its exports from India, a high company of the company said on Monday.”We mainly export leather shoes from India … it is in millions … the area and potential are there (to increase it)”, said the CEO of Bata Brands Sa Sandep Kataria, adding that India will be “our second largest” for the supply.
Bata has its main design center in Italy and over 15 factories all over the world. The company has a design center in Gurugram (Haryana) also in India and, together with the Italian team, it can design products for emerging markets, he said.
On the quality control order for the footwear sector in India, he said that it is a good move as it will help create a quality point of reference.
