Bajaj Auto, one of the main 2W and 3W manufacturers in India and among the main electric scooter producers, is about to open a new side on its siege to dominate the segment of motorcycles of the IDRODE of India. We are talking about the Avenger underbarous, which is destined to testify to the relaunch of Avenger 220 Street.
The company has approved the Avenger 220 road for the Indian market and will probably launch soon. Bajaj Avenger 220 Street’s approval documents have been leaked online, showing some specifics and crucial characteristics of this Cruiser motorcycle that soon-Lancia. Let’s take a closer look.
Bajaj Avenger Street 220
Currently, Bajaj offers only two versions of Avenger – Avenger Street and Avenger Cruise. Avenger Street is supplied only with a 160 cc engine and the Avenger cruise is supplied only with a 220 cc engine. This will change as soon as Bajaj is launching Avenger 220 Street in India, as he has been recently approved.
As seen in the homologation documents, the Avenger 220 cruise is positioned as a basic model and Avenger 220 Street is listed as a variant. It has a gross weight of 310 kg, a step of 1,490 mm, width of 806 mm, length of 2,210 mm and a height of 1,070 mm. Avenger 220 Street is slightly shorter than 220 cruise as it is missing on the high windshield.

The launch is likely to occur early and will be positioned below the Avenger 220 cruise which has a price of 1.48 Lakh (ex-sh) RS price. In comparison, Avenger 220 Street may have a price around RS 1.4 Lakh (ex-sh) or even lower to obtain a surprising price. It could increase sales for the Avenger brand, which was located just over a thousand units in April 2025 with a 46% sales drop on an annual basis.
What’s new?
While both (Street and Cruise) are cruisers of textbooks with their low seat, forward foots forward and a rear handlebar pulled with a high rake angle for comfort similar to a sofa, there are important differences. Street gets smarter colors and a general blackened finish and is missing from equipment for the tour offers with cruise.
Speaking of, Avenger 220 Cruise gets an overdose of chromed, classic dyes, a high windshield, back of the rear floors and more. Bajaj Avenger Street 220 will be powered by the same SOHC 2V SOHC engine/cylinder cylinder cyl-cylinders of SOHC/cylinder cylinders such as a 220 Avenger cruise with 19.03 hp of peak power and 17.55 nm peak torque, coupled with a 5-speed gearbox.

If we take the lowest range of the Cruiser segment in India, we have Kawasaki, TVS Ronin and Bajaj Avenger W175. Of these, Bajaj Avenger is the only offer that is a cruiser of adequate textbooks. However, it is not a popular formation in India and is often underestimated despite the unparalleled comfort it has to offer.
