Apple’s cinemas, which manage 14 locations mainly in the north -est, maintains its name derives from the geographical roots rather than from any attempt to capitalize on the recognition of the Apple brand. At the beginning of this year, Apple Cinemas opened its first headquarters of the West Coast in San Francisco, expanding beyond its traditional North -East imprint.
Apple Cinemas disputes the statements on the confusion of consumers, stating that its “brand is clearly differentiated” by the iPhone manufacturer. The company also contested the characterization of Apple of failed negotiations, stating that “has reasonably and transparent to all legal communications regarding this issue”.The Patent Office and Brands in the United States previously denied the attempts of the Brand’s Apple cinemas both the name “Apple Cinemas” and “Apple Cinemas Experience” in 2024, citing a potential confusion with the rights of existing brands in Apple. Apple Inc. has extended into entertainment content through its Apple TV+ streaming service since 2019.
