Environmental Research Letters this Study Has been published. It describes how the ice of Antarctic is melting and it is affecting the Antarctic Sarkampolar Current (ACC). Researchers prepared a model of mutual activity between ice sheets and seawater and studied it. It is discovered that the entry of fresh, cold melted water changes the density of the ocean and reduces convection between the surface and deep water, which weakens the stream.
What will be the results of slow stream
The slowing of the Antarctic Circumpolar Current (ACC) will affect the atmosphere of the whole world. Study says that if the Antarctic Sarkampolar Current (AC) slows down, it will cause disturbance in the global ocean circulation. As soon as the convection is weakened, hot water will start getting in the Antarctic and will start meeting inside. This will melt the ice faster and as a result it will increase the sea level rapidly. This will start sinking in water on the sea shore. In addition, it will widely affect the ecosystem of the sea. That is, with the continuation of this process, not only Antarctica, the entire planet’s ocean circulation patterns will start changing.
