The first day 2025 of Amazon India, held from 12 to 14 July, recorded its highest volume of orders, with over 18,000 orders per minute and a 50 % growth on an annual basis, said the company in a media press release on Monday.The event saw a wider base of sellers, with 68 % of the participating vendors from non -metallic cities. Over 70 % of the new privileged inscriptions were born from level 2 and level 3 cities. Amazon reported an increase of 1.8x in the two -day deliveries in smaller cities and said that tens of thousands of orders were delivered within four hours in level 1 cities.
“Prime members purchased multiple articles than any previous first day shopping event, while we have created new records at speed with the greatest number of deliveries on the same day,” said Akshay Sahi, head of Amazon Prime, delivery and return experiences, India and emerging markets.
The platform hosted launches from over 400 Indian and global brands. The Home category, Kitchen & Outdoor has grown by 1.2x, while sales of fitness and furniture equipment has doubled. Premium smartphones recorded over 60 % value growth, led by brands such as Samsung, Apple and OnePlus.About 25 % of purchases were made on EM, with 90 % of those who opt for any EMI cost. Amazon Business has recorded an increase of 3 times of the recordings of new customers and a growth of almost 7x in the first subscriptions. The purchase of electronics in bulk has contributed to higher volumes in categories such as robotic vacuum cleaner, tablets, headphones and televisions.
