IAS Story: After passing the UPSC Civil Services Examination, IAS gets a job. After this, they are sent to different positions. Recently, the government has appointed M. Pawan Kumar Malapati, a 2012 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Karnataka cadre, as Deputy Secretary in Defense Ministry, New Delhi on Central Deputation. This appointment has been made under the Central Staffing Scheme.
Travel from engineer to civil servant
Pawan Kumar is a 2012 batch IAS officer of Karnataka cadre. He has secured 53rd rank in UPSC Civil Services Examination. IAS Pawan Kumar Malapati did B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from BITS Pilani. After this, he worked in Infosys, but in the year 2009, he left him and started preparing for UPSC. He has managed to crack UPSC without coaching in the second attempt. He worked hard for three years while staying in Delhi and was successful with the support of friends and family.
Inspiration from the situation of farmers
Pawan took the inspiration to choose the administrative service from his farmer father and the situation in Anantapur. He told that I have seen poverty closely. As an IAS officer, he can help the society and can change the life of the needy by joining the policy-making. Pawan Kumar Malapati was working as Rural Development Commissioner (MGNREGS) in the Government of Karnataka. Now Delhi will move and take over the responsibility of Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Defense. They come from Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh, which is considered a drought-affected area.
Warning of action on not taking charge in the deadline
DOPT has clarified that if an officer does not handle the charge within three weeks, the process of removing the central staffing scheme can be initiated. This instruction is according to the guidelines of the Appointments Committee (ACC) of the cabinet.
