

Renault India has been in hibernation mode while the company continues to sell Kwid, Triber and Kiger from the interruption of Captur in 2020 and Duster in 2022. The Kiger EV track also made cold after that trial mule sighted without any camuflage. Renault has updated his wallet to India to keep it fresh with some editions and even methane options.
The company is about to launch a new Duster and Boreal in 2026 and the hybrid versions will follow later. In the meantime, there is another vehicle with a probability of launch and this is Kwid Ev. Tests have been spied on in India several times and from 2024 and again recently. Let’s take a closer look.



2026 Renault Kwid EV
Unlike the Muli of the EV Kiger test that have never made another appearance, it seems that we are more likely to see frequent test mules EV Renault Kwid here onwards. The last time the Renault Kwid EV’s test mules made a appearance, was tied to a platform truck. The last test mule is rolling on his wheels.
Interestingly, these test mules obtain a red temporary recording plates from Tamil Nadu, from which Renault Nissan Automotive India Pvt Ltd. As regards design, the next Renault Kwid EV seems almost identical to Dacia Spring EV that is currently on sale in global markets.



It should be noted that Dacia Spring EV and Renault Kwid EV (unconfirmed name) are vehicles engineered for badge. For India, Renault Kwid EV could pack the same 26.8 kWh battery pack by promising 220 km on a single charge or process an Indian version of this vehicle with components located for the effectiveness of costs.
What to expect?
As seen in these espionage shots, we can see the rear neighborhood of Renault Kwid Ev. It is completely camouflaged and even has a camouflage envelope blocked at its windows, which is interesting. The back gets a washing machine and a wipers and a parking lot. The antenna is conventional and not of the fin fincier type.



Due to its budget nature, Kwid EV does not get alloy wheels, but there are root covers. The lateral turning point are on ORVM and therefore could be electrically operated. The doors handles are pull-up type, maintenance with its budget brakketing. The front design will be quite simple with LED DRL and there will be body covering to lend that aspect of the SUV.
When it has been launched, Renault Kwid EVs will compete directly at affordable prices in India such as Tata Tiago EV, MG Comet EV and Citroen EC3. You can expect a starting price of about RS 7 Lakh (ex-sh). While the company has not confirmed it, Kwid EV could be launched in India by the end of 2025 or at the beginning of 2026.
