Kia Motor has worked on a new generation of Self which will probably be an important update compared to the current model. It is expected to have a completely new design language which is more bold and more clear than before. Now, the recent espionage shots show 2026 Kia Self Awd which also offers independent rear suspensions. Let’s take a closer look.
2026 KIA SELTOS independent rear suspension
The imminent new generation of Kia Seltos has been spied several times. There have been more sightings of test mules in South Korea, Europe and also here in India. Recent espionage shots have also shown two different front design with the next SELTOS, which hint at a possibility of ice versions and EV.
Now, the most recent spy strokes show an Ice version of Self, but looking beyond the end of the fat End, we can see what seems independent rear suspension. Historically, only the AWD variant of Kia Seltos sold in markets as the United States came with an independent rear suspension, while the FWD variants continued with a non -independent configuration.
The presence of configuration of independent rear suspension on this particular test mule suggests that it is an AWD variant that will be sold only in the export markets outside of India. In addition, there is a small possibility in which Kia is now extending the independent suspension even after the FWD variants, offering exceptional comfort as a standard or on higher variants.
Should Kia consider Self Awd for India?
Why not? Currently, only Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder offer AWD configuration in the C segment in India. By offering Awd, Grand Vitara and Hyryder have a unique proposal that will attract fans and demography of the life lifestyle of the adventure that do not want a vehicle with a scale frame.
In India, Kia has never offered a traditional vehicle that has any power in the rear wheels. In addition, all traditional Kia vehicles are lacking in independent rear suspension in India. All four independent suspensions today emerged as premium characteristics, but it was used in budget offers as the most convenient tata and nano nano nano.
There is a speculation on Self Hybrid in development and an electric version. 2026 Kia Seltos will present a new design language that is more garage than the current model. Even inside, it is expected that it will bring an important revision with shared elements with Syros. The trio of 1.5 liter engines (1.5 liters of petrol, 1.5 liters of petrol, 1.5 liters diesel turbo) will continue as it is.
