A cobra commando of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was killed during an anti -Naxal operation on Thursday, 22 May in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh. A Naxalite was also killed in the encounter. According to the news agency PTI, officials say that on the news of the presence of Maoists in the border area of Sukma and Bijapur district, Sukma District Reserve Guard (DRG), STF and COBRA (Commando Battalion for Resolute Action) Commando were released in anti -Naxal operations.
During the campaign, an intermittent encounter between security forces and Naxalites continues from Thursday morning. According to the officials, the encounter was killed by Cobra Commandos and a Naxalite was killed by security forces. It is also reported that a cobra commando has been injured but there is no confirmation about it yet. The help of Air Force helicopter is being taken to remove the injured. 27 Naxalites were killed in Wednesday’s encounter
